New-look Spurs cash in on sloppy rivals

SON SPIKES ART'S GUNS

IT WAS intense, hard fought and gripping.

But ultimately, neither team was quite good enough to win it.

Arsenal's title aspirations will be questioned after they twice threw away the lead. If you want to be champions, you cannot be that sloppy.

The Gunners failed to build on their early goal when they could have put the game out of sight and then Jorginho's horrible error gifted Heung-min Son a second equaliser just a minute after the home side had regained the lead.

Mikel Arteta was understandably cursing afterwards because he could see the reasons why Arsenal deserved to win but Tottenham certainly deserved a point.

There is no doubt that Ange Postecoglou will be happier with the result and the draw probably says more about the rapid progress the Tottenham manager is making. Spurs bossed mid-field with Yves Bissouma outstanding and James Maddison a terrific orchestrator.

What is also admirable is that Postecoglou sticks to his guns.
