COAL power stations are being fired up in the heatwave - because it's too hot for solar panels to work.

National Grid bosses have ordered them to produce electricity for the first time in weeks.

It comes after the intense heat hit the amount of energy generated by solar panels, which work best at 25C and become less efficient if it gets hotter.
