LOUIS REES-ZAMMIT got his first taste of the new NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs after turning his back on rugby union.
The 23-year-old is only the fifth player to make the leap from England's Premiership Rugby to the NFL after quitting in January before signing a three-year deal with the reigning Super Bowl champions in March.
Following an intense training camp, the Welsh international, from Penarth, Glamorgan, was thrown into action for the Chiefs' pre-season opener against Jacksonville Jaguars in Florida on Saturday.
Despite being on the end of a 26-13 defeat, Rees-Zammit played in four different roles running back, kick returner, kicker and as part of the punt coverage team.
