THE death toll from the migrant boat tragedy in the Channel was poised to rise today as new details emerged of the dramatic rescue mission to save others from the icy waters.
Sources said ahead of an official Ministry of Defence update that at least two more people were believed to have died in addition to the four fatalities already confirmed.
The bleak news came as a search continued to establish whether any other migrants were lost in the disaster, which occurred around 2am yesterday halfway across the Channel, about 12 miles off Dungeness in Kent.
