Super Tuesday sets up Biden-Trump rerun - but most voters don't want either

But results from more than a dozen states including California and Texas also underlined weaknesses that could hobble them both come the presidential election, with voters expressing widespread unhappiness at the choice on offer.

Chasing the Republican nomination again after his chaotic White House reign ended in violence and lawsuits, Mr Trump won all but one of the 15 states in play. His rival Nikki Haley won only in Vermont, and went to ground as she considered her options.

“They call it Super Tuesday for a reason,” Mr Trump, 77, told a raucous crowd at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, attacking President Biden over millions of migrants crossing the US -Mexico border — which has emerged as a top issue for voters, ahead of the state of the recovering economy.
