MARUTI SUZUKI is a few weeks away from commercially launching the eVitara, which will mark the debut of the car market leader in the burgeoning electric vehicle space.
While the car has started to reach select Nexa showrooms, Maruti Suzuki has to battle dampened buyer sentiments at the broader level while also trying to repel increased competition in the passenger EV space at the micro level.
First unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January, the eVitara is a mid-size, five-seater sports utility vehicle (SUV) built on a new platform called 'Heartect'. The Delhi-based company has pumped in more than ₹2,100 crore in the development of the car and also into a dedicated EV production line.
