Two BJP MLCs for closing of paan, cigarette shops near schools

LUCKNOW: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLCs Vijay Bahadur Pathak and Dinesh Kumar Goyal raised the issue of paan (betel), cigarette shops near schools, demanding their immediate closure on the second day of the winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council here on Tuesday.

The issue of toilets for female cops in police stations has also been raised with a demand for discussion by the two BJP MLCs.

In a joint letter addressed to the principal secretary, UP Legislative Council, the MLCs said, "The government is running a campaign for Mission Shakti Nari Suraksha. Crores of rupees are being spent by running a campaign to build toilets in every village and every house.
