England cricket authorities turned to their New Zealand coach who shook up and galvanised the batting approach in Test cricket after the team squandered the gains made in ODI cricket with the 2019 World Cup win with a pathetic showing in last year's edition in India.
McCullum has kept faith in a majority of the players who have made England a formidable prospect in Tests with Sunday's announcement of the squads for the five T20Is (Jan 22-Feb 2) and three ODIs (Feb 6-12) in India.
