JAIPUR: More number of districts can be carved out in Rajasthan as per need, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot said on Sunday, a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government annulled at least nine of the 17 new districts that he had formed during his tenure in August last year.
"Rajasthan had possibilities of making more districts. Despite being a smaller state, Madhya Pradesh has around 53 districts when Rajasthan now has only 41. It is important from the administrative perspective as it is high time to fulfil the promises made in the manifesto," Gehlot said at a press conference.
