Over 5.6mn Women to Get MMSY Honorarium Today

Over 5.6 million women in Jharkhand are set to receive the first installment of the enhanced honorarium of ₹2,500 under the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana (MMSY) from Monday, an official of the women, child development, and social security department said, adding that all preparations were completed on Sunday to begin the disbursement.

Ranchi deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri also confirmed the development. "The number of beneficiaries so far is over 5.6 million. We have completed all the preparations today," he said.

An official from the department, closely associated with the matter, said that an amount of ₹5,225 crore has already been allocated for the scheme across the 24 districts of the state.

"From December 2024 to March 2025, an expenditure of ₹5,900 crore was estimated under the scheme, and keeping this estimation in mind, ₹5,225 crore was allocated for the four months. The maximum allocation of ₹423.61 crore has been made for Giridih district, followed by ₹419.93 crore for Ranchi. Simdega has received the lowest allocation of ₹83.58 crore," the official said, sharing district-wise allocation figures.
