KOLKATA: The parents of the 31-year-old resident doctor who was raped and murdered at the West Bengal government-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital moved the Calcutta high court on Thursday, seeking a more in-depth investigation into the crime, which had triggered nationwide uproar.

"We moved the Calcutta high court on Thursday seeking a further in-depth investigation into the case. The plea was mentioned before the bench of Justice Tirthankar Ghosh," advocate Gargi Goswami, representing the victim's parents, said. "As the victim's parents have made the plea, the court has allowed it. It is likely to be heard on Monday."
