Fresh violence erupted in ethnic strife-torn Manipur on Wednesday when armed miscreants attacked a village in Imphal East district, prompting a retaliation from security forces, police officers said.

Separately, a bomb was discovered at a government building in Ukhrul district.

No casualties or major injuries were reported in the incidents, which also included a couple of rounds of firing by miscreants in an Imphal West village, officers added.
