The move turned out to be a game-changer for Kohlieven though India crashed out in the semis for it helped the prolific batter regain his touch.
Kohli's form turned out to be among the few positives for India in that World Cup as he reeled off four half-centuries from six innings, the pinnacle being a stunning 53-ball 82 against Pakistan to give a perfect headstart to India's campaign.
"What I went through, what is the cycle of having a long career, the ups and downs, he (Upton) understood that from a cricketing perspective. He has played cricket himself. And after that, becoming a sports psychologist is a different kind of space," Kohli told Star Sports.
