The officials said that PWD, the infrastructure arm of the Delhi government, plans to spend around 23.5 crore to revamp the Vikas Marg stretch from Vijay Chowk to the Laxmi Nagar traffic light, and has set an estimated deadline of three months for the completion of the project.

The stretch is one of the last projects among the 16 pilot stretches which were to be upgraded on "European standards", they said.

In November 2019, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had approved the redesign and upgradation of some roads under the jurisdiction of PWD, with 16 roads taken up as a pilot project in 2021 to be developed as what the government refers to "European standards".

The stretches in the first phase included Ring Road (Moolchand junction to Ashram Chowk), Aurobindo Marg (IIT flyover to Aurobindo Place), Nelson Mandela Marg (DCP office to Promenade mall), and Lodhi Road (India Habitat Centre to BP Marg), among others.

Biden meets Trump, promises smooth transition of power

Donald Trump left White House on January 20, 2021, as a bitter man angry at the 2020 election results that he continued to reject, as an isolated man whose own party sought to distance itself from Trump after the mob insurrection on US Capitol, as a politician whose political obituary was being widely written in Washington DC and beyond, and as a president who had broken the tradition of peaceful transfer of power.
