'Very poor' air quality persists

Calm winds on Wednesday meant Delhi's pollution levels remained in the "very poor" zone for a fourth straight day, even as the city recorded a slight improvement in its air quality, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.
'Very poor' air quality persists

Forecasts show wind conditions will continue to remain unfavourable for the dispersion of pollutants over the next few days, meaning that the air quality is likely to remain "very poor" till Saturday.

CPCB classifies an air quality index (AQI) reading of 0-50 as "good", between 51 and 100 as "satisfactory", between 101 and 200 as "moderate", between 201 and 300 as "poor", between 301 and 400 as "very poor", and over 400 as "severe".
