TRAUMATISED campsite bosses told how a baby escaped unharmed because it was in its cot when a car crashed into a field and went over the tent as it lay inside sleeping.
Mike Harris, who bought the campsite with his wife Clare in 2018, said he had seen the "shocking" CCTV footage of the horrific late-night crash.
He said: "The car tumbled three times before it went over the tent and continued rolling before it ended upright on top of people.
"It could have been even worse. There was a baby in there and the only reason they were saved was because they were in a cot." Clare said: "It flipped and rolled several times, and crashed into the tent. There was a young child, a baby, in the tent at the time, thankfully they are okay. It's a tragic accident that the police are dealing with."
Nine people were injured when the blue Ford Fiesta slammed into people at Newgale Camping site Pembrokeshire, Wales.
