THE GAA has given Croke Park and Belfast's Casement Park the thumbs up for a Euro 2028 bid.
The Association said yesterday: "At a meeting of GAA Central Council, permission was granted to allow Croke Park and Casement Park to be included in a formal bid for the 2028 European Soccer Championships."
The redevelopment of the 34,000-plus capacity Casement Park in West Belfast has been mired in controversy.
The last projected build cost for the stadium was €125million, having originally been estimated at €88million when the plan was first being drawn up.
