DORIS IS GOING BACK TO BASICS

GOING back to basics can propel Ireland and Caelan Doris to World Cup glory, the No.8 insisted yesterday

Brian O'Driscoll predicted this week that Doris can be Ireland's star in France but that he had scope for improvement, especially in the big games.

The back rower himself acknowledges the need to step up to another level but believes the key for himself and the team is to go back to what they have been best at after a mixed build-up.

"Everywhere," Doris replied when asked where he can improve.

"It's a bit of a boring answer but even as a team we've been discussing areas where we can grow.

"A lot of that is looking for evolution in your game obviously, adding layers, but so much of it is going back over the basics.
