IT'S WHOLE NEW BALL GAME FOR CONN MEN IN CAPE TOWN CLASH

Stormers v Connacht

Tomorrow, Cape Town, 3pm

CONNACHT’S “horses for courses” selection policy looks tailor made for the galloping back row trio that put Ulster to the sword in Belfast.

There could be some changes for tomorrow’s semi-final at Cape Town Stadium as the westerners expect a different sort of game against the Stormers to the one that unfolded at the Kingspan Stadium seven days ago.

“The nature of an interpro and a knock-out game, it was always going to be very attritional and a very tight affair,” recalled head coach Pete Wilkins.

“To go and play the Stormers with all the talent they’ve got, particularly in the back line and the back three, there’s a huge amount of firepower there, there’s some pretty exciting players.

“Equally, with that, it becomes a more open game and there’s turnovers and quick counter-attacks and all sorts of things to get your teeth stuck into.”
