It was a blow but the Ballinabrackey man (above) didn’t view it as a major setback.

He just set about improving and, after impressing for a Meath development squad, was recalled to the main panel.

Coffey was then thrown right in at the deep end with his first ever senior start, the Leinster quarter-final defeat by Offaly.
