Woman who made false accusations jailed for 4yrs

A WOMAN who nearly "destroyed the lives" of a senior Garda, solicitors and social workers after making false allegations against them, including of rape and sexual assault, was jailed for four years

Sonya Egan, 43, of Lios Cara, Killeens, Co Cork, was not present at Cork Circuit Criminal Court for her sentencing yesterday.

She is on hunger strike in Limerick Prison where she is currently serving a two-year sentence for harassment.
