THE team behind a beloved pub near the city centre have just opened up a new neighbourhood cafe that aims to be anything but a greasy spoon.
Leo and Roobs, situated next door to The Black Friar pub, will serve up a selection of contemporary brunch dishes, including steak and eggs and house-made crumpets, alongside a range of artisanal coffees and baked goods seven days a week.
The cafe, situated on Garden Lane, which is off Blackfriars Road in Salford and within walking distance of Deansgate, aims to fulfil a need for good food and a chilled atmosphere. Named after owner Neil Burke's two children, he says the venue will offer something new to the area.
"We're not a greasy spoon," Neil tells the M.E.N.. "I want to keep it simple but interesting. We're trying to stay away from offering the big breakfasts we're trying to find a balance between healthy options and comfort dishes." Turkish
