A NEW waterfront food and drink destination with a sun terrace and a host of traders has been unveiled.
Part of a wider £3.5 million transformation of the waterfront stretch at Quayside MediaCity, Central Bay is one of the biggest operations of its kind - not only in Greater Manchester, but the North of England.
It encompasses a 20-kitchen food hall, five waterside shipping container kitchens, and a shipping container bar.
Over the coming months, the 25,000sqft venue will also become a home for pop-up events, live music and family friendly activities.
Named after the original stretch of dock, which was once a thriving loading bay during the Industrial Revolution, Central Bay sits near a number of Salford landmarks, which can be admired from its south-facing outside terrace, providing space for up to 600 visitors.
The main focus of the initial launch is Kargo MKT, with space for 400 guests, a 2,000 sq ft outdoor terrace and a bar looking out onto Old Trafford and the Imperial War Museum.
The food hall has been developed by Blend Family.
