People living in Gorton have called for improvements such as zebra crossings, speed cameras and extra traffic lights to be placed along Hyde Road. The renewed calls for action come after a man was seriously injured after he was hit by a vehicle on a stretch of the road on New Year's Day.
An 81-year-old man was arrested and a police inquiry continues.
Jackie Totell, a resident in West Gorton, said: "The amount of accidents happening over the past two years is crazy.
