The 25-year-old has sealed a return to the Premier League after Ipswich signed the goalkeeper from the Clarets for an initial £8m, with the fee rising to £10m with add-ons.
When City sold him to Burnley for £2.5m two years ago they included a series of clauses in the deal, including a sell-on clause which has now bought in that same figure again, meaning the Blues have now earned £5m from the sale of the Kosovo international, who joined the club at the age of 16.
It takes City's total profit from sales to £60m this summer and that fee includes the £5.4m they made as a result of Douglas Luiz's move to Juventus from Aston Villa.
