A TEENAGE labourer at a skip hire firm died after machinery hit a wall causing a concrete block to fall on him, a coroner has been told.
Oliver Thomas Nield, also known as Oliver Mawdsley, 17, died at the scene following a 'workplace accident' at the premises of M60 Skip Hire, where he had recently just started working, on the industrial estate on Tile Street in Bury town centre on February 8.
A joint investigation by the police and Health and Safety Executive (HSE), during which two people have been arrested, is continuing.
An inquest into Oliver's death was opened yesterday at Rochdale Coroners Court, where further details regarding the tragedy were revealed.
