The five Greater Manchester firefighters arrived in Marrakesh to join a search and rescue team consisting of 60 crew members and 14 firefighters.
The GMFRS team consists of firefighters who are experienced with the outcome of an earthquake, with several being sent out to previous rescue missions such as the earthquake in Turkey in February.
The earthquake has already claimed the lives of over 2,400 people with the number expected to rise every day.
The team is led by the acting operations commander, Martin Foran, who travelled to Turkey to help assist with the Turkey-Syria earthquake crisis.
