A CRIMINAL investigation is under way following the deaths of a mother and son on a skiing trip in France, an inquest was told.
Kate and Archie Vokes died following an avalanche at Saint-Gervais-lesBains, near Mont Blanc, on December 28, 2023.
Alison Mutch, senior coroner for Manchester South, Stockport, opened inquests into both of their deaths in separate hearings yesterday.
She said Archie, a 22-year-old personal trainer born in Wythenshawe, had died 'as a consequence of an avalanche' with no formal cause of death at present.
