He bit me, punched me, strangled me... I'm terrified of him

A HEAVILY-PREGNANT mum who was held hostage by her ex-partner says he 'lined up torture implements' and threatened to carry out a DIY caesarean section before she wet herself and faked going into labour in a bid to escape her terrifying five-hour ordeal.

Amy MacFarlane, 25, was chained to a radiator by 30-year-old Jake Corry who she said she thought was going to kill her as he slashed her with a sword, hit her with a hammer and cut off all her hair. He even slashed at her stomach, threatening to perform a C-section.

Amy's attempts to fight back were unsuccessful, but when she pretended to go into labour, she managed to persuade Corry, from Failsworth, Oldham, to call an ambulance. He has now been jailed for six years at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court.

"I pretended I was in labour and it was my only chance of escape. I really thought he was going to kill me," said Amy following his sentencing.

"Thankfully me and my baby son are doing well, and I want to speak out to plead with other women to walk away from violence before it is too late.

Amy and Corry met in April 2021 and he at first seemed quiet and caring.

"Jake and I really got on well," mum-of-four Amy, from Oldham, said. "He seemed very protective, as though he wanted to look after me."

But weeks later, he flew into a rage after Amy bought a new foundation and he assumed she was planning to be unfaithful. "I tried to reassure him I would never cheat on him," she said. Three months on, she fell pregnant.
