It's a Shaw thing - key to Hojlund progress
Manchester Evening News|November 18, 2023
"I know when I get the chances in the league, they're going to be hopefully in the back of the net," a confident Rasmus Hojlund said ahead of Manchester United's match against Luton Town prior to the international break.

It's a Shaw thing - key to Hojlund progress

"I still feel a little bit cheated of my goal against Brighton because I watched the Newcastle game where it was more or less the same. Hopefully, it's going to be nice and I know it's going to come, so I'm waiting. I don't feel the pressure and I'm just trying to focus on my game. I haven't really had the same chances in the Premier League as I've had in the Champions League!"

Hojlund was discussing his failure to score a goal in the Premier League in that interview with Sky Sports and there was truth to his claim that he hadn't had the same opportunities in the league as in European competition. That was a valid response, but Hojlund missed a chance just nine minutes into the Luton game that a grassroots striker would score, with the 20-year-old somehow not finding the net after a Marcus Rashford cross.

Hojlund attempted to score with his thigh when attacking with his foot or head was a better option. He couldn't generate pace or direction on the effort and that allowed 'keeper Thomas Kaminski to recover.
