It's Sancho's responsibility to stop moans

YOU didn't need to be a qualified lip-reader to understand what Jadon Sancho was saying to Bruno Fernandes during their altercation on Sunday afternoon.

"Stop moaning," was the response from the winger to the captain, after Fernandes had demanded more from a player with a point to prove.

Sancho is the only one who can stop that moaning by continuing to build upon the recent level of performance that has seen him become an increasingly important part of the United side.

The weekend win against Aston Villa was not Sancho at his best, but it was another step in the right direction. The 23-year-old was a constant menace whenever he got on the ball, though there wasn't much threat at goal whenever he ventured into the final third.

No player from either side completed more key passes than Sancho during the Villa game, but there were also moments in which he lost possession easily, a reflection of the mixed performance he had.

The Reds must take encouragement from the fact he has responded well to Erik ten Hag's demands in recent weeks, though there comes a time when you must demand even more from a player who cost £73m just three years ago.
