A MAN who put trackers on a victim's car before he was kidnapped claims he didn't know he would be abducted and tortured - telling a jury he thought the plan was just to steal from him.
Delroy Chin, 47, accepts he was 'part of a criminal conspiracy, but denies he was part of a kidnap plot.
He accepts putting trackers on a VW Caddy and an Audi belonging to the man, but claimed they were for the purpose of stealing cash and drugs. Mr Chin addressed jurors at a Manchester Crown Court trial yesterday.
Also on trial is co-accused Shaun Freeman, 29, who is alleged to have divulged information about the man including his car registration - to a group who went on to snatch the man and take him to a lock-up before burning and Tasering him, jurors have heard.
Jurors previously heard six men have been convicted of conspiracy to kidnap including Michael Etuhu, 39, of Abbeycroft Close, Tyldesley, Bury.
