Knife brute boasted 'I've killed Caroline'

A JURY took just 90 minutes to convict a brute with a history of attacking his partner with murder after he stabbed her to death as she was in her bathroom.

David Liptrot, 56, had pleaded not guilty to the murder of his partner Caroline Gore, 43 - but was found guilty following a two-week trial.

Members of her family shouted 'yes' in the public gallery at Manchester Crown Court. Liptrot showed no reaction when the foreman of the jury announced the verdict.

Ms Gore, a cleaner, died after being stabbed seven times in her flat at Douglas House, Wigan, in October 2023. She was on the toilet when she was attacked by Liptrot who 'lay in wait' for three hours following a drunken row. She was left with neck, chest and abdomen wounds, jurors were told.

The following afternoon, while at a pub, he told a punter: "I've killed Caroline." When the landlady found out what he'd said, Liptrot said 'if there is ever big problems, you get rid of them, you get shut.'
