A TEENAGER arrested in a taxi with a bag containing two terrifying knives launched a brutal attack on a detective while he was being questioned by counter terror police.
Muhammad Zakir Arif, 18, sprang up from his seat in a police interview room and began repeatedly punching the male detective, before grabbing him in a choke hold.
He shouted "there is no God but Allah" in Arabic during the unprovoked attack, Manchester Crown Court heard.
Arif, from Bury, had been arrested in Hulme after being carrying a machete and a zombie knife.
He told police: "I only had those in my bag because I like weapons." Arif refused to reveal the PIN code to his phone even after a court order on grounds of national security.
