The 18-year-old was found in the road by police on patrol in Booth Road in Altrincham at around 5am on Saturday.
He had sustained serious injuries and tragically died at the scene.
Police confirmed the incident was a hit-and-run with the driver leaving the scene.
An 18-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. GMP confirmed yesterday morning that he has since been bailed.
