RAIL bosses say they 'don't yet have all the answers' regarding public transport alternatives during a £16m bridge replacement project that will cause months of travel chaos.
Work on the Greek Street Bridge, which crosses the West Coast Mainline in Edgeley, near Stockport station, is to begin this Christmas.
The roundabout and surrounding roads will then be closed for an entire year from March next year.
No trains will run through Stockport for 21 days next August.
Network Rail say the complex task will cause 'significant disruption. However they say the current bridge, which was built in 1958, has reached the end of its life and that replacing it is essential.
