PALLIATIVE CARE PATIENT JIMMY 'OVERWHELMED' AS HE IS GIVE SPECIAL SCOOTER SURPRISE

AS A former Mod on palliative care, Jimmy Reynolds had only one wish - to be surrounded by classic scooters again.

The 70-year-old, who lives at assisted living residence Belong Atherton, told carers he wanted to relive his glory days and they immediately set about to make it happen.

Staff reached out to local Mod groups Wigan Scooter Club and Bolton Two Hats Scooter Club who agreed to give Jimmy the 'full Mod five-star treatment.

He received the surprise of a lifetime when two dozen fellow Mods. showed up on his doorstep on their iconic scooters.

They took Jimmy for a ride around the local area in a sidecar while they all shared their own stories.

He said: "When I saw what my carers had done, I was both shocked and overwhelmed. This was a great thing and I am grateful to all that gave up their time to do this for me."
