A MUM has spoken of her sadness after a tree in memory of her four-year-old son was stolen from church grounds.
The 'tree of light and hope' was planted in the grounds of St Clements Church on Ashton Old Road, Openshaw, in 2018, a year after Max Rimmer-Chambers tragically died.
The four-year-old passed away in May 2017 when a fireplace surround fell on him.
The tree, which was lit up in fairy lights, acted as a place of remembrance for the youngster as well as a 'place of hope' for people in the community to visit.
Max's mum Kerrie told the M.E.N. that the tree was taken at some point between 9 pm on Wednesday and early on Thursday morning. was gone when people started to message her to say they couldn't see the lights on Max's tree.
