Nunes is starting to show his true worth

A busy summer saw two midfielders signed at a combined price of £75m in deals that were hoped to offset the departure of Ilkay Gundogan. As well as filling the space ahead of Rodri, it was thought that Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes could even show another evolution of Pep Guardiola's football with their abililty to carry the ball.

Four months in and not helped by Kevin de Bruyne being wiped out since the first 20 minutes of the season, it hasn't gone to plan. It doesn't feel like Guardiola trusts the new signings yet to make the difference, and with injuries showing no signs of abating some supporters want the squad strengthened in January so that it has the firepower needed to compete for all the big trophies again.
