We are yet to see what vision Ratcliffe has for United.
What we do know is the INEOS founder has a track record in top-level sport, even if his ventures into football have been on a much smaller scale to date.
Unfortunately for Ratcliffe, his time at United will begin on a level of some distrust from the fanbase after he adjusted his offer to leave the Glazers in a position of power at Old Trafford.
However, it is understood the boyhood Red will have a greater say on the sporting side.
This may come as a relief to United supporters, who will be in agreement in their assessment of the Glazers’ handling of football matters.
One of the first appointments Ratcliffe is believed to be wanting to make is a sporting director.
