MANCHESTER council has named its new chief executive to 'lead the city for the decade ahead!
Tom Stannard will take over the authority as its chief executive, following a months-long search to replace Joanne Roney. Ms Roney left her post in August after seven years in the job to return to her hometown of Birmingham, where she took on a managing director role of the crisis-hit authority.
In the interim, former Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) chief executive Eamonn Boylan took the reins for Manchester council. But he will be replaced by Mr Stannard, who is currently chief executive of Salford council.
