NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday lauded the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (PMGS-NMP) as a transformative initiative revolutionizing India's infrastructure landscape. Marking the third anniversary of the program, Modi made a surprise visit to the PM GatiShakti Anubhuti Kendra at Bharat Mandapam, showcasing the plan's key features and achievements.
Launched on October 13, 2021, PMGS-NMP aims to provide multi-modal connectivity infrastructure to various economic zones. The initiative is driven by seven engines: railway roads ports, waterways, airports, mass transport, and logistics infrastructure.
In a post on X, Modi emphasized the plan's role in enhancing multimodal connectivity and driving efficient development across sectors. He highlighted how the seamless integration of stakeholders has boosted logistics, reduced delays, and created new opportunities for many.
"Thanks to GatiShakti, India is adding speed to fulfil our vision of a Viksit Bharat. It will encourage progress, entrepreneurship and innovation," the Prime Minister stated.
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal also praised the initiative, noting its crucial role in streamlining logistics and advancing connectivity. Goyal underlined the plan's contribution to developing a modern, interconnected infrastructure network that aligns with the vision of building a developed India.
