Voting in the assembly elections, the last before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, kicked off in Mizoram and parts of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, with stray incidents of clashes reported between security forces and Maoists in the sensitive Bastar region that left four CRPF personnel injured.
In Chhattisgarh, election officials said that there was 70.87% voting in the 20 seats that polled on Tuesday. In Mizoram, there was 69.64% voting till 3 pm. The final percentages are updated the day after voting takes place.
