However, we can take nothing for granted. I caught up with the Chairman of the Democratic City Committee the other day, and I asked him what the Democrats are doing to get out the vote.
Congressman Bob Brady says the Democratic Party in Pennsylvania is working aggressively to get out the vote come Tuesday, November 5, 2024, General Election Day. Because this is a presidential election year, the focus is even more intense than ever to encourage would-be voters to be prepared to cast their ballots for the candidates of their choice.
As a person in the media, as I make my way around town from one event to another, I sometimes hear criticism about both the Democratic City Committee and the Republican City Committee in Philadelphia from people who want us to believe ''they don't do anything." In a perfect world, Committee People and Ward Leaders in Philadelphia and all other levels of elected officials would be out, door knocking, going door to door, neighborhood to neighborhood, leaving no stone unturned, in their quest to educate would-be voters and get them ready for election day.
Truth be told, even before the Pandemic of 2020, a lot of residents in our city were a lot less likely to answer their door when they saw strangers come knocking. Certainly, since the pandemic, I find that even more people are distrustful--about people they don't know standing at their front door, wanting them to open the door--so they can hand them political literature or whatever.
Here's what Mr. Democratic Chairman for the City of Philadelphia, Bob Brady, had to say. 'We are pro-Biden without question and anti-Trump. The things this guy (Trump) wants to do in 2025, it's crazy, especially for African Americans. He wants to cut everything.
