WIMBLEDON 2022: SW19 IS READY FOR ACTION AND SO IS RADUCANU IN SECOND SLAM QUEST
EMMA RADUCANU wants to be perfect at Wimbledon — just like the place itself.
The British tennis sensation, 19, will be given a hero’s reception when she makes her first appearance at the All England Club since bursting onto the scene with her run to the fourth round a year ago, after which she went on to triumph at the US Open in September.
And after overcoming an injury concern to be here, what became evident as Raducanu spoke yesterday was that she is absolutely delighted to be back.
Asked what details strike her most about the SW19 venue, she said: “It’s just the attention to detail in every single aspect that this place has... from the flowers to everything.
“They have subtle hints of tennis racquets and tennis balls in the carpets.
“The level they go to to make sure this place is pretty much perfect... it’s pretty outstanding.
“That attention to detail is pretty inspiring in itself.
