RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, during the announcement of the monetary policy committee’s decision to maintain the repo rate at 6.5% for the third consecutive meeting, conveyed the central bank’s stance on inflation and its measures to address economic challenges. In light of uncertainties surrounding domestic food prices, the RBI raised its inflation projection for the current fiscal year from 5.1% to 5.4%. Despite this, the growth forecast for the fiscal year remains at 6.5%, indicating the RBI’s confidence in the overall economic trajectory.
