The bench comprising of Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Augustine George Masih was hearing the present matter.
The bench in the case was dealing with an appeal noted that the impugned order passed by the High Court recorded that the advocates for the petitioner were absent from the High Court on the date of the order dated July 26, 2023, due to the lawyers abstaining from work.
The appellant approached the Supreme Court after the High Court dismissed its writ petition.
The court in its order stated that, Prime facie, the conduct of the lawyers of abstaining from the Court work is contrary to the settled law laid down by this Court.
