Taiwan detects Chinese military presence near territory

According to Taiwan News, in the past 24 hours leading up to 6 am Thursday, Taiwan detected 11 People’s Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft and eight naval vessels operating near its air defence identification zone (ADIZ). This includes seven PLA aircraft that crossed the Taiwan Strait median line in the northern and southwestern sectors of the ADIZ, alongside a PLA helicopter tracked in the southeast ADIZ.

Taiwan’s response to these provocative actions has been robust. In reaction to the Chinese military maneuvers, Taiwan deployed its own aircraft and naval assets, bolstered by coastal-based missile systems, to monitor and respond to the PLA’s activities. Such defensive measures highlight Taiwan’s vigilance in safeguarding its sovereignty amid increasing Chinese assertiveness in the region.
