After a rough early start to the race, I managed to secure a position towards the middle-back of the field and my horse found all the way to the line, giving me one of the greatest moment, if not the greatest moment, of my entire career.
I cannot express the excitement and thrills that went through my body, and it's given me the desire (more than ever) to compete on the world stage as much as I can.
All the hard years of work, all the blood sweat and tears, culminated in this momentous victory, and it is really one of the proudest moments of my life.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who made this dream become a reality, including all the owners and trainers who have given me their constant support over many years. I thoroughly appreciate it, and I cannot express my gratitude enough.
Overall, it was the experience of a lifetime, and I must thank everyone who treated me so well, from the moment I arrived, to the moment I left and I can say, Singapore is truly a beautiful country.
With that behind us and back in the swing of things, I truly want to do everything I can to give myself the best opportunity to win the SA Jockeys' title this year, and that would secure another dream and goal of mine.
Last week saw the running of the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring Challenge over 1450m, where we saw a really top-class performance by Back In Business who cruised to victory, making it three wins from three runs this season.
