Pegasus to fly at Turffontein

FORM: SOMA AND YENI TEAM UP AND CAN GET PUNTERS OFF TO A WINNING START.

Racing today takes place at Turffontein as well as Hollywoodbets Durbanville as we have a doubleheader on offer for punters.

We will of course be focusing on the Turffontein card and the headliner on the card is Race 7, the Listed Betway Spring Spree Stakes over 1200m.

This race signals the start of the Joburg spring season and it's hard to believe how quickly it's upon us.

We must take this opportunity to thank Betway, who sponsor our spring season in a massive way and that culminates with the Betway Summer Cup, and the big announcement in the last couple of weeks is that race will now be run for an astronomical R6 million, which makes it the richest race in SA and it's absolutely phenomenal for all stakeholders.

Without sponsorships and the likes of Betway, it would be really tough to get the game to the heights we would like it to go to, so we really do appreciate your support.

To celebrate the arrival of spring we also have a Pick 6 carryover of R500,000 at Turffontein with the pool likely to reach R3 million.

I have six carded rides and I really like what I do have, so I'll be hoping to have a really good day.

Last week was another fair week for me and I managed to bag three winners from the time of writing the column, and while I had a double on Thursday, I'll be hoping to better it this week.

Our best bet (Accept Cookies) and our value bet (Ariel's Jet) in last week's column both won so I really hope it guided our followers in the right direction and here's hoping you all made some money.

With the Equus Awards, which brought a close to last season, behind us and with the start of the spring season now, we are well and truly set to go for this season.

I have always believed the importance of setting goals each season and once again I have certain goals I'll be hoping to achieve.
